During quarantine while you can’t physically get away, learn how to practice self-care that benefits your whole family. In this time of social isolation, when many mamas are left without birth support in the delivery room, it is vitally important for women to be at the heart of their self-care and advocacy, and to have a community of support throughout their pregnancy.
We believe in the powerful Mama that is herself born during the birth journey. Yoga Mamas Wellness Weekends are for everyone planning a pregnancy, pregnant or postnatal.
Prenatal yoga is one of the most effective ways to empower the experience for both mother and baby no matter what type of pregnancy you have. Over our years of training and leading, we have seen the harm of classes led by well-intentioned but unaware teachers. Our trauma-informed training addresses the often overlooked needs of the prenatal and postnatal yoga student who may have experienced infertility issues, a previous difficult birth, loss of a baby, c-section, perineum tear, or the issues common to pregnancy and postpartum like sciatica, back and pelvic pain, tender wrists, loss of mobility, anxiety, and more. We nurture and empower both teachers and mamas in community together for the best birth outcomes.

I love Randi’s classes more than anything. She creates such a great space/community that made me feel comfortable (both pre and post natal). I really liked how she encouraged the moms to connect with each other, even outside of class. With my first pregnancy I felt so lost and didn’t know what to expect. It was great getting as much information from Randi about what was to come and may happen. It was also great preparing my body for the marathon of giving birth!

This distinctive yoga mamas prenatal training will provide the healing presence of our Yoga Mamas community to nurture, empower and support you as you navigate your pregnancy. You’ll learn, not only the essentials of yoga and how they can be adapted to your pregnant body, but how to hold nurturing space for yourself as you prepare your body for birth. Empower your birth story by uncovering preconceived notions about pregnancy and birth and creating community with other birth workers/expecting mothers.
Yoga Mamas Wellness Weekends Include
- Confidence: Building confidence in your ability to move during pregnancy and to give birth
- Community: Learn alongside women in every stage of pregnancy. Connect to others in their birth journey
- Personal Authenticity: Find your powerful voice in self-care and advocacy for you and your baby.
- Shift Your Vision: Focus on what is possible in Pregnancy instead of what’s not, exploring the many variations of asanas.
- Asana: Create space for baby and comfort for yourself through length and strength
- Labor Preparation: Yoga tools for best birth outcomes, including fetal positioning, mindfulness preparation, asanas & pranayama for labor and more.
- Support with Props: Learn how to modify and use props as well as tools for the issues that may arise in your pregnancy
- Deep Dive: In depth knowledge on the pelvis, the manometric system, diastasis recti and how yoga best supports functional movement and a healthy core preventing many of the issues that occur postpartum.
- Adaptation: Explore best practices for modifying and empowering your practice during a regular yoga class
- Labor Practices: Explore the use of mindfulness practices, chanting and vocalization, guided imagery, partner yoga/support and breathwork for labor.
Our Yoga Mamas leaders are mothers who are passionate about the power of yoga to empower students, create community and transform the experience of pregnancy, birth, and motherhood.
Our Director, Randi Coen Gilbert, E-RYT 500 has spent over 20 years as a child advocate and yoga teacher. Randi began teaching yoga in 2000 after having her second baby. She credits a full yoga practice, including mindfulness, to saving her as a new mom and making her a much better parent. Certified at the 500 hour level in 2003, Randi has advanced accreditations from Yoga Alliance. In 2012, she became a birth doula, registered by DONA International and trained in Yoga Therapy for 2 years.. Randi has a Master’s Degree in Drama Therapy from NYU. Last year, Randi fulfilled a lifelong dream and spent 5 weeks studying yoga and visiting spiritual sights in India.

Yoga Mamas Wellness Weekends are available as individual modules or an entire series. Take a “Babymoon” or consider this a training in learning to hold space for yourself!
Each weekend focuses on key skills and provides the embodied leadership for our core values of nurturing, empowering and creating community. Weekend sessions include Friday evenings from 6-9pm, Saturday and Sunday morning sessions from 8:30-11:30am.
Our first 3 weekends are focused on prenatal practices and the final weekend is postnatal.
Your tuition also includes free access to join Randi’s weekly live Pre/Postnatal Classes (for Mamas at any stage) as well as class recordings during the training.

If you register for the entire program, you get unlimited access to Randi’s Yoga Mamas Self-Care Shorts, a collection of 5 wellness videos and free access to join Randi’s weekly live Pre/Postnatal Classes (for Mamas at any stage) where you can continue to build relationships with other mamas and get the benefits of a regular class.

Randi speaks to the discrepancies our system of class and race have on birth in her teaching, and advocates for all families. 10% of her teaching profits will go to Black Mamas Matter Alliance who ‘envision a world where Black moms have the rights, respect, and resources to thrive before, during and after pregnancy’ and the Maternity Care Coalition whose mission is to ‘ improve the health and well-being of pregnant women and parenting families, and enhance school readiness for children 0-3.

I loved Randi’s classes because she made it so personal for each one of us. She genuinely took the time to customize poses based on each individual need and special circumstance both while pregnant and postpartum. I specifically knew I wanted pre/post natal yoga because I wanted to be mindfully prepared for birth and physically strong for the journey during and after the birth. I genuinely attribute my consistent yoga practice with Randi on and off the mat to successful birth stories that were mindful, full of yoga and deep breathing. Without the whole package of practicing yoga prenatally I don’t know that’d I’d have the success I did staying present and focused calmly throughout. I look back and my two births and even one MC and have a vivid memory of peace, breathing, and my yoga practice taught through Randi that got me through.
